On July 18, 1959, he and the former Mary Elizabeth May were married. They have two children, Richard Wayne, Jr. and Kimberly Ann. 1959 was a very good year because not only were Jack and Mary Lib married that year but he was ordained by the First Baptist Church, Meridian. In 1960 he received his Bachelor of Divinity Degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary; in 1967 he earned his Master of Divinity and in 1983 his Doctor of Ministry Degree also from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Since 1960, Dr. Causey has served at First Baptist-Greensboro; First Baptist-Gaffney, SC; and Pendleton Street, Greenville, SC. In April, 1986 Dr. Causey was called to pastor First Baptist-Statesville where he served until his retirement in May, 2000. Since retirement he has served as Interim Pastor of Pritchard Memorial, Charlotte. Dr. Causey has been active in many civic organizations. Most recently, he has been on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity-Iredell County, Board of Directors of Hospice-Iredell, Board of Directors of Counseling Center of Iredell and Board of Directors of the Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention Center of Iredell County. |
