Next Web Committee Meeting Agenda Items 1) The internet is here to stay, and easy access to the internet is becoming commonplace in our church and our society. Should the church recognize the web committee as a standing committee of the church, or as a subcommittee of and existing committee? In any event, we must define the positions to be filled by the nominations committee each year. Should routine internet access be a criteria for membership to improve communications and simplify operations? 2) Our web site can be many things to many people, and the potential for it to become overwhelming is real. Learning the tools necessary to maintain our web site is not a trivial task, and requires special skills as well as a large commitment of time from our designated webmaster. Should we declare a purpose, vision, or visions for our web site and try to stay within those boundaries, or delegate the upkeep of different areas to trusted individuals? 3) Should we make forms used by the church available on this web site? Ex. Van Rental Form, Hall rental Form, etc. Should we put online forms in our future plans? 4) Our internet web site is a widely accessible publication, and as such, has the potential to promote and/or offend. Do we need a system to review potential content? What are the steps in the review process? 5) Sub Webs - As this site grows, should this committee be
responsible for or delegate responsibility for the content of linked sub webs?
(I.E. Royal Ambassadors, Children in Action, Youth, Sr. Adults, etc.)
Could written standards be sufficient for delegation? 7) USB Scanner available 8) Web Committee as a subcommittee to the newly forming Technology Committee. 9) Should we make a request to the nominating committee to list this committee as an elected committee the next committee year (September-August)? 10) The Essay's in History original publication did not have names for the individual essays. The web page currently has each essay named after it's author. Could we come up with some better names for these papers? (need suggestions). 11) We need a new home page.. suggestions for theme. 12) HM's resignation letter.. should this stay on for a while longer? 13) Suggest an easy way to approve changes to the site. The youth would like to make changes to their own area. Other groups may be interested in maintaining their own sub-webs as well.
