Associate Pastor of Family Ministries: Rev. Jacob Waldrip
Jacob has been the Associate Pastor at First Baptist since January of 2018. Prior to FBC, he served as the Ministerial Resident at First Baptist Church, Augusta from 2016-2017. He has also served as the Middle School Boys Teacher at the Frazee Center in Greenville, SC, from 2014-2016.
Jacob received his undergraduate degree from Furman University in Religion. He also holds a Master of Divinity from the McAfee School of Theology in Atlanta, GA.
Outside of ministry, Jacob has been married to Brittani since 2015. Jacob and Brittani enjoy attending Furman football games, going for walks, and generally adventuring together.
Minister of Music: Rev. Aza Hudson
Music is a great way to praise God and glorify His name! Aza has been part of church music in Albemarle for over 35 years. She began accompanying a youth choir and playing for the Sunday evening worship services when she was in 8th grade and has continued in church music. She has been in music education in Stanly County for over 30 years, teaching students in kindergarten through 12th grades. She is currently at North Stanly High School teaching chorus and handbells.
While not working with music, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Kevin and children, Elizabeth, Eben, Elaine and Elithe. She loves sharing her faith in God and her love of music with her family and community.
Children's Ministry Coordinator: Christy Brown
Christy Brown serves as the Children's Ministry Coordinator working alongside Rev. Jacob Waldrip to serve our children (birth-5th grade) and their families. Christy is an occupational therapist for Stanly County Schools when she is not at church.
Organist: Rae Tucciarone
Rae has been the Organist at FBC for over 50 years. She has been a fixture at FBC and in the community. She has also taught hundreds of students piano and organ in her home. Many of her students have accomplished significant achievements in music under her leadership.
Children's Ministry Intern: Scottie Chambers
Scottie is a junior at Pfeiffer University majoring in exercise science with the hopes of becoming a physical therapist. Native of Charlottesville, VA, Scottie leads children's worship on Sunday mornings and also teaches Mission Friends on Wednesday nights.
Music Scholar: Mandee Schaub
Mandee is a sophomore at Pfeiffer University majoring in pre-med and minoring in music. She is a native of Bolivia, NC. Mandee has served as the Music Scholar at First Baptist since fall of 2016. She sings in the Sanctuary Choir, Youth Choir and plays bells with the Youth Bells.
